Egypt on Tuesday condemned the continued attacks on Saudi Arabia, warning that their continuation could fuel tensions and increase escalation in the region, as Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman visited Cairo.
Egyptian Foreign Ministry condemns attacks and declares solidarity with Saudi Arabia
In an official statement, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said the attacks represented a clear violation of the rules of international law and a threat to regional stability and security.
Cairo reiterated its rejection of the attacks, affirming its full solidarity with the Kingdom in confronting any threat and stressing the interconnectedness of the two countries’ national security.
Sisi-Bin Salman talks address regional escalation
Mohammed bin Salman is visiting Cairo for talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on issues of mutual interest.
The talks are expected to address the latest Iranian escalation in the region and Houthi attacks on Saudi cities, which resulted in civilians being injured.
The Egyptian presidency had announced that the meeting would include an exchange of views on regional developments, as well as discussions on strengthening relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia and advancing areas of joint cooperation.
The talks are scheduled to include security coordination on the Red Sea and developments in the Bab el-Mandeb area, given the strait’s strategic importance to global trade and international supply chains.
